The Parish of Kirklees Valley was created in May 2009, by uniting the parishes of St. James, Woolfold and All Saints, Elton.

The name Kirklees is taken from the valley between Tottington Road and Brandlesholme Road, what used to divide the parishes now unites us. Each were well established, St. James since 1928 and All Saints since 1843.

There are two parish churches, St. James is the original building and a recent major refurbishment gives it flexibility. All Saints is now served by a new building, consecrated in June 2008 (the original building closed because of structural problems in 1993 and was declared redundant on Pastoral grounds in 2000).

Responsibility for the churchyard (which is still open) lies with the parish.

The Friends of All Saints Churchyard

This group works in partnership with the Kirklees Valley Parochial Church Council (PCC) for the improvement and future maintenance of the old churchyard.

The group has regular working parties and its purpose is to ensure that the old churchyard remains an asset to the community. Read more here.
